Position Description:

If you are in search of an on-campus position that will enable you to improve your communication skills while making connections with our donor and alumni population then the Office of University Advancement in Beatty House is the place for you! Working closely with University Advancement staff the Student Assistant will be responsible for facilitating alumni engagement stewardship donor conversations and meetings outreach via social media and assisting with event preparation and execution.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain a social media campaign that engages donors and alumni.
  • Research and compile donor and alumni success stories for print electronic and social media channels.
  • Assist with compiling and crafting internal and external donor briefings for meetings
  • Act as student ambassador for University Advancement related events as available.
  • Assist with the development of annual Day of Giving (April 22nd) and act as a Day of Giving Ambassador.
  • Craft responses to general alumni inquiries condolence/congratulatory letters event registrations etc.
  • Develop a working knowledge of the donor and alumni database.
  • Create and coordinate the distribution of time-sensitive materials.
  • Research and analyze peer institutions Advancement marketing and communication strategies and events.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Refine written and oral communications skills.
  • Acquire working knowledge of event planning execution and stewardship.
  • Network with Chatham alumni and donors.
  • Enhance time management skills

This position is hybrid with a flexible work schedule involving office days work from home assignments and some evening and weekend event responsibilities.

All current student employees should notify their other manager(s) if you work multiple jobs on campus at the same time. Additionally students may not work more than 20 hours per week (combined between all campus jobs) during the academic year. Students may not exceed 980 work hours per calendar year.

Student jobs do not automatically roll over to the next academic year or summer.
