Your Responsibilities

  • Caseload Management: Managing a varied caseload of family law matters including divorce and separation
  • Children Matters: Handling children matters residence and contact arrangements with sensitivity
  • Financial Settlements: Advising on financial settlements matrimonial assets and property disputes
  • Court Representation: Conducting negotiations and representing clients at court hearings
  • Legal Documentation: Preparing legal documentation including petitions applications and consent orders
  • Protection Orders: Managing domestic violence cases and injunction applications
  • Professional Liaison: Liaising with barristers social services and other professionals
  • Client Support: Providing sensitive and empathetic support to clients during difficult times
  • Client Relationships: Building and maintaining strong client relationships throughout proceedings
  • Business Development: Contributing to business development and department growth
  • Legal Knowledge: Staying current with family law developments and case law

Essential Requirements

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Experienced Family Law Fee Earner with proven track record
  • Strong knowledge of family law procedures and court processes
  • Comprehensive experience in divorce children matters and financial settlements
  • Case management skills with ability to manage own caseload with minimal supervision

Technical Skills:

  • Court advocacy experience with confident hearing representation
  • Legal drafting including petitions applications and consent orders
  • Financial settlements expertise and matrimonial asset division
  • Legal technology proficiency with case management systems experience

Key Skills:

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Empathy and sensitivity when dealing with vulnerable clients
  • Commercial awareness and commitment to business development
  • Emotional resilience to handle distressing and complex family situations
  • Time management skills with ability to prioritise urgent family matters
  • Professional discretion in handling sensitive and confidential matters
