The Laboratory Support Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the Schluter Systems North America Technical Laboratory. This position is responsible for coordinating purchasing activities maintaining accurate documentation handling data entry and reporting and assisting with laboratory tasks. The role involves close collaboration within the lab team and across departments such as R&D Technical Services and others.

Coordinate purchasing processes for the Laboratory department

o Complete purchase requisitions capital asset requests (CAR forms) and related documentation

o Communicate with vendors and follow up with Purchasing and Finance departments

o Receive items into the inventory management system (e.g. Infor)

o Maintain purchasing and procurement files

o Process internal orders through Customer Service as required

Laboratory records and documentation

o Organize and file hard copy raw laboratory data

o Convert and archive data electronically in network locations and/or databases

o Enter and transcribe test results into spreadsheets and databases

o Create summary tables graphs and charts as needed

o Maintain equipment files and track/schedule calibrations

o Coordinate and track training sessions maintain training forms and training matrix

o Assist in the preparation and formatting of lab procedures and route for approval as needed

Support coordination of external laboratory testing

o Request and process quotes

o Complete necessary documentation and prepare sample shipments

Assist in the processing of laboratory test requests

Assist with scheduling and coordinating meetings and related activities

Greet and assist visitors entering the facility and ensure front reception and common areas remain tidy and welcoming

Receive and document incoming deliveries from carriers vendors and service providers

Maintain inventory of lab materials and supplies office supplies PPE and coffee/beverage supplies; reorder as necessary

Follow all laboratory rules procedures and safety protocols

Perform other duties as assigned

High School Diploma or equivalent required college degree preferred

Effective communication skills written and verbal

General computer skills

Working proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook Word Excel and PowerPoint)

Self-motivated detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills

Data entry experience

A degree of emotional intelligence self-awareness and conflict management is preferred

Experience in some type of Learning Management System (LMS) system is a plus
