Job Summary
- Match computer orders with specimen labeling sort specimens and check specimen delivery.
- Maintain quality results by running standards and controls; perform routine equipment maintenance.
- Serve as a technical resource by participating in staff training.
- Alert supervisory personnel to abnormal patient conditions.
- Identify the presence or quantity of drugs in patient samples.
- Operate chemistry equipment to provide test results for patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Complete blood typing antibody screening and compatibility testing to ensure patients receive compatible blood.
- Contribute to a safe and secure environment for patients visitors physicians and co-workers.
- Maintain patient confidentiality by safeguarding laboratory information.
