Your New Role

CNN is seeking a Senior China Reporter to join its Asia-Pacific headquarters in Hong Kong.

This is a role for an ambitious and capable reporter with a deep-well of ideas excellent sources and the know-how to deliver distinctive enterprise journalism at the highest level.

Your Role Accountabilities

Youll have proven reporting skills and the ability to distill complex ideas for an international audience bringing an on-the-ground understanding of China as well as an eye for emerging trends.

With a passion for engaging storytelling you will be comfortable handling a wide portfolio covering everything from politics and government to tech business and society.

Working as part of a diverse highly-collaborative team of digital-first journalists you will be expected to move between reactive and proactive depending on the situation and able to meet the moment during major breaking news delivering editorial content for all of CNNs platforms.

Qualifications & Experience

• A minimum of 8 years of reporting experience for leading digital-first outlets

• A proven track record of breaking news and scoops; superior news judgement; and the ability to deliver in a highly pressurized deadline driven environment

• Heightened ability to identify news and cultivate strong sources and areas of expertise

• Experience conceiving and producing distinctive enterprise journalism identifying unique reportingand/or investigativeopportunities

• A passion for news and a deep knowledge of Chinese government and society

• Enthusiasm flexibility andan ability to coordinate with teammates and desire to foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment

• The ability to think in headlines and smart framings while considering the intended audience

• College degree or equivalent industry experience

• Perfect grasp of written and spoken English

• Fluency in Chinese a major advantage
