The University of Miami/UHealth Department Medical Wellness and Recreation has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Manager Fitness Programs to work in Miami FL. The Manager Fitness Programs develops and manages health and fitness programs for patient referrals and students faculty staff and community members to further the Universitys wellness goals and objectives. This includes the integration of medically based exercise programs with the clinical mission of the organization.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Oversees development and management of programs including but not limited to fitness testing protocols progressive exercise programs and exercise prescriptions for patient referrals.
Develops administers and monitors budgets.
Establishes short-term and long-term measurable objectives for the department. Ensures program evaluations and reports are completed for short- and long-term goals.
Determines optimal staffing levels for fitness floor operations and health and fitness programs.
Oversees patron risk stratification and medical clearance procedures.
Coordinates the development of educational materials regarding physical activity and general health for members and patients.
Develops processes and procedures to measure program performance and operational outcomes.
Supervises contract and payroll compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
Works with senior management team to develop implement and monitor a comprehensive risk management plan.
Monitors the development and administration of surveys to obtain feedback that can be used to improve department functions.
Keeps abreast of new developments in the field takes continuing education classes and discusses new research methods and knowledge.
Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in relevant field
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
Knowledge of business and management principles
Ability to direct manage implement and evaluate department operations
Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan
Ability to effectively plan delegate and/or supervise the work of others
Ability to lead motivate develop and train others
Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships
Any relevant education certifications and/or work experience may be considered.
