You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe University of Wisconsin-Madison Wisconsin State Lab of Hygiene (WSLH) comprises 26 clinical and non-clinical public health laboratories. WSLH performs both research and fee-for-service testing. WSLH is looking for a Financial Manager. Working closely with the WSLH CFO WSLH Revenue Manager WSLH Procurement Manager and laboratory managers the Financial Manager is responsible for WSLH accounting budgeting financial analysis and financial reporting. The successful applicant for this position will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly and concisely communicate complex financial situations to non-financial professionals. The successful applicant will have three or more years of accounting and financial experience at UW-Madison including experience preparing journal entries financial reports ad hoc financial analyses and budgets. Strong Excel skills are required and experience with Workday is necessary. Experience reviewing financial information for accuracy and compliance including creating journal entries and implementing remedial solutions is preferred. A Bachelors degree in business or a similar field is required.
This position is eligible for hybrid work with up to 2 days remote work.
Plans directs and engages in financial and/or accounting operations for multiple areas; coordinates data management budget preparation and management and financial reporting efforts - 50%
Identifies verifies and audits financial charges credits and authorizes payments - 20%
Recommends interprets disseminates and implements unit-focused fiscal policies and procedures ensuring compliance with established rule regulations and financial guidelines - 5%
Participates in the development maintenance and monitoring of automated financial information systems - 10%
Analyzes financial information and makes recommendations to unit leadership - 10%
Serves as a subject matter expert to unit leadership regarding financial operations status and reporting and recommends process improvements - 5%

Minimum salary is $87500/year. Actual salary to be determined upon hire.
