About the Job
Are you looking to make a real environmental impact while advancing your career in plant operations Were seeking a Lead Hand to join our team and take a key role in day -to-day operations of our Biosolids Plant. You will be responsible for carrying out daily operations in the Biosolids Plant to ensure that processes and plant activities are completed efficiently and effectively in compliance with applicable permits and regulations. You will lead by example by modelling safe work practices using the required PPE at all times and enforces this with all other staff.
Reporting directly to the Plant Manager the position is Monday to Friday 40 hrs/week with occasional requirement for after hours and weekend maintenance work. Wage can range from $35$40/hour based on experience and qualifications.
What Youll Be Doing
Share on-call duties with plant manager for after-hours plant issues.
Setting the tone for safe efficient work modeling best practices for the team.
Supporting improvements to health & safety and SOPs alongside the Plant Manager
Occasionally operating plant processing and mobile equipment
Ensure that preventive maintenance and inspection records are kept current in the CMS.
Complete quality assurance checks of Plant Operator PMs.
Assist/perform plant maintenance activities - including welding and equipment repairing etc.
Heres What You Need
Red Seal Journeyman certification (Millwright pipe fitter etc.) or actively working towards it.
High school diploma or GED.
2-3 years of relevant experience or a strong mix of education and hands-on training.
Experience operating heavy equipment such as front-end loaders.
High competency in installing maintaining and repairing machinery and equipment.
- Able to work independently and take initiative when needed.
