Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Job Readiness Coach plays a key role in fostering participants job readiness through coaching mentoring and support throughout each phase of the program including enrollment . Reporting to the Program Manager this position provides individualized guidance to program participants helping them develop essential job skills and progress toward program graduation standards. Responsibilities include monitoring participant performance offering real-time feedback and facilitating personal and professional development workshops. The coach works closely with a collaborative team to track participant progress and ensures participants are held accountable for meeting program expectations. The role also requires the ability to manage multiple tasks maintain detailed documentation and support the programs commitment to expanding access to career opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  1. Foster Participants Job Readiness through Coaching and Mentoring
    1. Coach program participants on job skills and relevant career pathways during each training cycle.
    2. Coordinate with the Program Manager and other frontline staff to monitor participant progress toward job readiness and identify both accomplishments and barriers to success.
    3. Assist in tracking and documenting all aspects of participant performance related to the programs graduation standards. This includes punctuality attendance quality and efficiency of work time management participation initiative technical skills critical thinking safety practices communication teamwork conflict resolution and receptiveness to feedback.
    4. Gather and share information across all relevant staff members and instructors on each participants progress and next steps for meeting the job readiness program completion standards. This includes case managers instructors crew leaders and placement team members
    5. Provide coaching to each participant on their progress and next steps for meeting the job readiness graduation standards.
    6. Provide immediate coaching and feedback in response to real-time participant successes and challenges.
    7. Support the process for holding participants accountable for meeting program expectations creating accommodations implementing progressive disciplinary consequences ensuring participants have the support they need to meet expectations monitoring participant status in the program and communicating updates to relevant staff.
    8. Create regular written feedback and provide in-depth coaching with participants around areas of strength and opportunities for growth related to the job readiness graduation standards and illustrate patterns and progress around these areas.
    9. Develop and facilitate 2 - 4 hour workshops on personal and professional development topics.
    10. Co-facilitate cohort Orientations with the Program manager and or any other coaches.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  1. Assist with CSC graduations including set-up/breakdown creating printing and copying graduation program and participant packets.
  2. Participate in staff and training team meetings.
  3. Assist training staff with facilitating random drug screens.

Desired Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of one year of experience providing coaching services and/or serving as a mentor.
  • Experience in workforce development is preferred.
  • Strong computer and note-taking skills required.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Effective classroom management and ability to engage with program participants.
  • Exceptional time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Drive and Calendar Microsoft Word and Powerpoint applications.
  • Dedication to worker development in a high-quality respectful environment.
  • Highly organized detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Excellent verbal communication skills interpersonal relations skills and writing skills
  • Exceptional personal responsibility for meeting goals and a track record of success
  • Ability to recognize problems develop innovative solutions and implement them
  • Ability to adhere to a strict guideline of keeping and maintaining confidential information.
  • Ability to prepare and submit accurate and reliable reports
  • Ability to develop and foster effective mentorship relationships with program participants
  • Ability to work a daily schedule of approximately 7am - 3:30pm.

Work Environment & Schedule:

  • The work schedule is typically Monday through Friday from 7am to 3:30pm with occasional evenings or weekends as needed. There is occasional travel to offsite meetings.
  • The position is a fully in-person position with work taking place at Civic Works office in Baltimore City.
