Job Description

Asset Management Lead

Location: Bethesda MD (Onsite with some Hybrid flexibility)

Job Overview: LCG is seeking an experienced Asset Management Lead to oversee the lifecycle management of Clients IT hardware portfolio valued at over $5 million. The Asset Management Lead plays a critical role in ensuring IT equipment is accurately inventoried reconciled deployed maintained and retired in compliance with federal and NIH policies.

The Asset Management Lead will direct a team of asset support staff and manage the end-to-end process of IT asset control including acquisition tracking deployment storage reconciliation and disposition.

Key Responsibilities

Asset Lifecycle Oversight

  • Manage all stages of IT asset lifecycle including acquisition imaging deployment tracking and end-of-life disposition.
  • Oversee $5M in IT assets (laptops desktops monitors printers peripherals mobile devices).
  • Lead and mentor a team of 2 asset support staff ensuring accuracy and accountability across all asset management processes.

Inventory & Reconciliation

  • Conduct inventory validations (floor-to-book and book-to-floor) to ensure accuracy of asset records.
  • Research and resolve asset discrepancies update system records and maintain audit-ready documentation.
  • Perform categorization labeling and ownership tracking of IT assets.
  • Execute material transfer orders ensuring compliance with NIH standards.

Operational Support

  • Process material requests including receiving movement packaging labeling and storage.
  • Maintain organized storeroom/warehouse operations to support asset readiness.
  • Image new systems and re-image existing ones prior to deployment.
  • Track and manage End-of-Lifecycle replacements coordinating refresh schedules with Client leadership.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain up-to-date desk guides SOPs and documentation to ensure consistent process execution.
  • Provide accurate records for audits property reviews and federal reporting requirements.
  • Report regularly on inventory accuracy lifecycle status and asset utilization to Client IT leadership.
Requirements
  • 7 years of experience as an Asset Team Lead supporting $5M IT asset portfolios.
  • 5 years managing and leading asset management staff (2 team members).
  • 3 years overseeing end-user IT assets (computers monitors printers peripherals etc.).
  • Experience with inventory reconciliation system imaging and asset lifecycle planning.
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Business Management Supply Chain Management or related field (5 additional years of related experience may substitute).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including reporting and documentation.
  • Ability to multi-task prioritize and execute against defined schedules.
  • Prior experience supporting federal IT environments with compliance requirements.
  • Experience with warehouse/storeroom operations.

Compensation and Benefits

The projected compensation range for this position is $100000 to $200000 per year benchmarked in the Washington DC Metro area. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Salary at LCG is determined by various factors including but not limited to role location the combination of education/training knowledge skills competencies certifications and work experience.
