Insurance Underwriting Operations Specialist Hybrid (1 day onsite/month) San Rafael CA

We are seeking a solutions-oriented Underwriting Operations Specialist to join a fast-growing Commercial P&C MGA. This is a great opportunity for someone with 3 to 6 years of insurance operations experience ideally within an MGA or carrier who enjoys building efficient processes managing remote support teams and collaborating cross-functionally to drive results.

In this role youll report to the Director of Operations and support operational excellence within the Workers Comp vertical by overseeing virtual support staff optimizing workflows and ensuring quality control. What Youll Do:

Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve clarity and consistency
Identify inefficiencies and lead process improvement initiatives
Oversee daily activities of our remote support team including performance management
Collaborate with underwriting business development and external partners to ensure alignment
Manage carrier audit and billing processes to ensure compliance and accuracy
Analyze bottlenecks and recommend practical solutions to enhance productivity

What You Bring:

3 years of experience in MGA or carrier operations
Familiarity with admitted P&C lines including Auto GL Property Inland Marine Umbrella/Excess and Workers Comp
Proficiency in workflow design tools (e.g. Visio Lucidchart)
Strong initiative and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Tech-savviness and comfort adopting new systems
