The full-spectrum Capital One Communications team is responsible for all aspects of the companys communications strategy and execution in order to propel business imperatives while promoting and protecting the reputation of Capital One. Our purview includes corporate and brand media relations issues and reputation management financial communications and associate communications as well as a full-service content and creative storytelling team that brings the story of Capital One to life on internal and external channels. We are communicators writers creative directors and multimedia experts and we are all storytellers. As a central team within Global Enterprise Affairs we are strategic counselors to our partners throughout the enterprise sitting at the intersection of value creation and risk mitigation. We help drive business initiatives forward while enhancing the reputation of Capital One.

We are seeking talented individuals to join our growing Tech & Innovation Communications team. This position requires exceptional judgment an ability to build relationships in a highly matrixed environment and a sustained focus on delivering results. Creative problem-solving an ability to read the data and the room and a passion for storytelling are all critical to success in this role. Empathy teamwork and a sense of humor are essential.

About the Role:
As Manager Science & Technology on the Corporate Communications team you will play a pivotal role in supporting and executing integrated strategic communication efforts that elevate Capital Ones brand and reputation as an innovator in finance. Working across the business and horizontal enterprise functions youll foster strong relationships with key stakeholders including senior leadership and help deliver impactful campaigns that advance Capital Ones enterprise technology business goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Help drive scientific innovation internal communications and external public relations thought leadership and reputation-building efforts including owning key bodies of work in enterprise AI/ML data science and broader science communications

• Partner with Capital Ones data science applied and academic research AI/ML and modeling teams to develop thoughtful messaging and unified internal communications strategies that drive forward community and talent-related programs

• Support Capital Ones external positioning within the context of AI data and other scientific disciplines elevating Capital Ones role as a leader in technology and destination for top technology and academic talent

• Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless implementation of communications strategies

• Contribute to team-wide efforts to develop processes and operational excellence

• Stay informed about industry trends to inform and enhance communication strategies

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree or military experience

• At least 5 years of communications experience related to the sciences technology or innovation

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6 years of public relations or communications experience in financial services technology and/or other science-related industries

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidates offer letter.
