Hourly Pay Rate:
APS5: $57.50 $61.44 12% superannuation
APS6: $63.40 $71.29 12% superannuation
Security Clearance/Requirements: Minimum NV1 clearance required at time of application
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking highly skilled Personnel Security Vetting Officers to conduct security clearance assessments. These positions require the ability to manage complex caseloads deliver rigorous quality assurance and provide clear evidence-based advice to support the integrity of personnel security outcomes.
The role requires sound judgement strong analytical skills and the capacity to operate effectively in a high-volume environment with shifting priorities while maintaining strict compliance with the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and established procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct security vetting in accordance with the PSPF and standard operating procedures.
Provide objective and accurate advice on clearance outcomes.
Manage complex assessments and prepare comprehensive high-quality reports.
Deliver quality assurance activities including oversight of work undertaken by external service providers.
Balance competing priorities and deliver outcomes within tight timeframes.
Undertake administrative functions including mailbox management and assessment of change of circumstance notifications.
Operate effectively within case management and information systems.
Contribute to the consistent delivery of robust and compliant personnel security processes.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Certificate IV in Government (Personnel Security Vetting) mandatory.
Current NV1 Security Clearance (minimum) at time of application.
Demonstrated ability to apply sound judgement and analytical thinking in complex assessment environments.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to prepare clear accurate and defensible documentation.
Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands while maintaining attention to detail.
Proven ability to engage professionally with a broad range of stakeholders.
High level of integrity and discretion with a strong commitment to ethical conduct.
