About the Opportunity
Were currently seeking passionate and motivatedFamily Relationship Advisorsto join our growing team. With multiple permanent opportunities available both part-time and full-time these roles offer the chance to make a real difference by supporting individuals and familiesacross several of our Helplines including Family Relationship Advice Line Gambling Help Line Redress and Seniors support lines and more. Youll play a vital role in providing guidance practical advice and high-quality referrals to help clients navigate challenging life situations with confidence.
As a Family Relationships Advisor with RAQ youll be part of an organisation dedicated to creating positive change in the community while working within a supportive team that values your growth and backs you in building a rewarding career.
Please note: You must be willing to work weekend and overnight shifts.
Additionally you will:
Provide responsive and high-quality support to clients tailoring your response and interventions to their needs.
Apply your knowledge of separation parenting and family dynamics to guide clients towards workable arrangements.
Apply knowledge around vulnerable cohorts such as those experiencing addictions or experiencing abuse or looking for support at a difficult time.
Assess client risk factors including family violence or child safety concerns and make appropriate referrals.
Support individuals through crisis and connect them with the right service at the right time for them..
Utilise client information systems to accurately record data and manage risk assessments.
Contribute to a supportive collaborative and professional team environment
About You
You are a compassionate and skilled professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is motivated by supporting individuals and families during times of need. With excellent communication and problem-solving skills you bring empathy resilience and a strong commitment to best practice cultural sensitivity and client-centred support. You love contributing to team goals driving continuous improvement and actively receiving meaningful feedback and support to enhance your skills and professional growth.
Additionally you have:
An undergraduate qualification in Social or Behavioural Sciences (postgraduate qualifications and professional membership highly desirable).
Experience in a call centre counselling or client service environment ideally within community services.
Knowledge of family separation parenting arrangements and the impacts of domestic and family violence and addictions
Demonstrated ability to assess for risk respond to crisis situations and provide safe and appropriate referrals.
The ability to engage effectively with people from diverse backgrounds including First Nations peoples CALD communities and LGBTIQ clients.
Strong computer literacy and confident use of Microsoft Office and client information systems.
