Virginia Energy is seeking a Senior Human Resources Business Partner to serve as a strategic and tactical advisor to senior leadership and staff. This role plays a key part in fostering an inclusive collaborative and high-performing work environment that supports our mission.
The ideal candidate will bring expertise in performance management employee relations compensation staffing trends and HR best practices. A strong understanding of HR policies programs procedures and applicable regulations is essential along with excellent initiative follow-through feedback and decision-making skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications
Comprehensive experience in multiple aspects of HR to include performance management employee relations pay and staffing trends and best practices
Experience with classification and compensation especially in state or local government.
Experience with employee relations from complaint to resolution
Knowledge of human resources trends and best practices
High level knowledge of benefits to support employees with simple benefits questions.
Extensive knowledge of federal and state employment laws and their practical application in a public work environment
Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office software and database management systems
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong planning and organization skills
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations
Experience gathering and summarizing data for reports finding solutions to various administrative problems and prioritizing work
Ability to work independently to meet deadlines
Excellent customer service and relationship building skills
High degree of professionalism discretion and confidentiality
Ability to work on a team that delivers a high-availability level of service
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Experience working with state software systems such as Cardinal/PeopleSoft PageUp VRS Navigator etc.
Additional Considerations
HR related certification preferred (SHRM-CP SHRM-SCP PHR SPHR)
