Business Development Manager Industrial Coatings & Chemicals

Overview:
Seeking a driven strategic sales leader to expand custom manufacturing capabilities within the industrial coatings printing and resin sectors. This hybrid role blends field engagement with office-based strategy offering a mix of new business development and existing account growth.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Growth
  • Develop and execute a targeted growth strategy to expand market share and revenue.
  • Identify and secure high-value accounts driving long-term partnerships and competitive positioning.
  • Monitor market trends emerging technologies and competitor activity to inform business strategy.
  • Represent the company at trade shows conferences and industry events to elevate brand visibility.
Sales & Operations
  • Build and manage a robust sales pipeline using CRM tools; ensure accurate forecasting and performance tracking.
  • Lead complex contract negotiations securing multiyear agreements with favorable terms.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing operations and product development to deliver tailored solutions.
  • Support product trials and technical demonstrations to accelerate customer adoption.
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in industrial coatings and related markets.
  • Mentor junior sales professionals and foster a culture of accountability and performance.
  • Drive strategic initiatives that support broader business objectives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Business Marketing Engineering Chemistry or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 7 years of B2B sales or business development experience including 3 years in coatings chemicals or adjacent industries.
  • Strong understanding of industrial coatings paint or resin markets.
  • Proven success in strategic account management and regional market expansion.
  • Skilled in executive-level negotiations and relationship building.
  • Proficient in CRM platforms (e.g. Salesforce) and advanced Excel; experience with Sage a plus.
  • Willingness to travel regionally up to 30%.
