General Purpose of the Position for the Quality Inspector & CMM Operator:
Provide first article in-process and final inspections supporting manufacturing needs while ensuring products comply with the appropriate engineering and specifications. Additionally theQuality Inspector & CMM Operatoris responsible for operating and maintaining the CMM.

Major Work Functions of the Quality Inspector & CMM Operator:

  • Perform first article in-process and final inspections using standard measuring equipment to verify product quality and document results according to company policy.
  • Make educated decisions when accepting or rejecting products based on applicable specifications and engineering requirements.
  • Document inspection results control nonconforming products and track work in JobBoss.
  • Prioritize inspections to support organizational goals and minimize production delays.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing personnel to resolve nonconformities and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Operate and maintain the Zeiss G2 CMM Machine with proficiency in GD&T Calypso and Catia annotation when required.

Essential Functions:

  • Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T specifications.
  • Utilize Calypso (knowledge preferred) and Catia annotation.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word Excel and standard SME tools.
  • Experience with AS 9100 quality management systems and calibration processes.
  • Ability to perform layout inspections and operate/program CMM equipment.
  • Maintain and calibrate precision machinery; determine programming requirements based on design and engineering standards.

Required Knowledge Skills Abilities and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required (post-secondary education can substitute for experience).
  • Minimum of 2 years inspection experience with blueprint reading in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years CMM operation/programming experience required; certification strongly preferred.
  • NDT Level I II or III certification in Florescent Penetrant Inspection preferred but not required.
  • Weld Inspector certification preferred but not required.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform inspections throughout the manufacturing floor.
