Job Summary
-
Develop CMM programs setup strategies and fixture recommendations for Hexagon Global Chrome S and Brown & Sharpe CMMs using PC-DMIS 2018/2019 to inspect tight-tolerance parts with complex datums and profile requirements.

Create CMM programs directly from customer-provided 3D solid models.

Perform CMM inspections on new or complex components and generate AS9102 First Article Inspection (FAI) packages to support shipments and new customer qualifications.

Experience completing and submitting AS9102 FAIs through Net-Inspect is preferred.

Train inspectors and CNC leads on program usage and quick-change fixturing to efficiently inspect repeat jobs.

Execute in-process inspections for Engineering products verifying critical features per blueprints and Job Orders including In-Process Prints or Green Sheets issued by Manufacturing Engineering.

Demonstrate strong capability with complex surface-plate/open setups using standard inspection equipment (height masters sine plates hand tools gauges etc.).

Review Job Order documentation to ensure all required sign-offs are completed first articles are properly verified and any required SPC is performed and documented.

Create and update inspection plans for new parts and revisions as directed by the Quality Manager/Director of Operations including updating item operation descriptions and inspection sequences.

Learn and support inspection work using optical comparators and Keyence IM vision systems; attend training as needed to expand proficiency with inspection equipment.

Support training and development of other inspectors especially on difficult-to-measure features and advanced mechanical inspection methods.

Assist in preparing AS9102 FAI reports as assigned by Quality leadership.
