JOB TITLE: Support Staff - Library Instructional Assistant
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION |
To organize plan and maintain the school building library.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES |
To assist teachers and students in the effective use of the library as a learning resource.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS |
- Demonstrates a sincere desire to aid all students
- Knowledge in the areas of books printable material equipment and supplies.
- Assist individual students in location reference materials and other instructional materials.
- Reads to small groups of students and listens to individual students read.
- Assumes responsibility for cataloging and filing materials
- Supervises students in the library
- Develops a system for the replacement of books and equipment
- Assists in the collection of books
- Promotes acceptable conduct of students using the library
- Keeps students and teachers informed of new equipment and materials
- Make recommendations for the purchasing materials and book for student use
- Works with others in NLCS to coordinate the activities of the library
- Instill the love for reading in students
- Serves as a role model for students
- All other duties as assigned
- Must pass a background check
- Must complete Support Staff Checklist
