Job Summary
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Pool Nurse
Location:Phoenix AZ85027
Schedule: Thursday Friday Saturday 10-hour shifts 30 hours per week
Note: This role requires working every weekend except Sundays. Occasional approval may be granted for hours over 30 but never exceeding 40. No overtime offered.
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive health services to youth in a correctional/residential care environment. The RN will evaluate monitor and support the health needs of youth residents deliver emergency care when needed and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe evidence-based care.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate and respond to youth health concerns advising on treatment and procedures.
Obtain and process specimens (blood urine etc.) for diagnostic testing.
Monitor record and report changes in youth health status.
Administer medications and observe for potential adverse reactions.
Conduct intake screenings for newly admitted youth.
Provide direct and emergency care to youth and emergency care to staff as needed.
Consult and coordinate care plans with healthcare team members.
Maintain accurate medical records and ensure medical supplies are properly stocked.
Administer vaccinations and assist with annual TB screenings.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge of professional nursing methods and clinical techniques.
Strong skills in patient observation assessment and crisis response.
Effective problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with professional and non-professional staff.
Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships in a challenging environment.
Requirements
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
Minimum 1 years of RN experience.
Preferred:
Previous corrections detention or institutional nursing experience.
