Position Title:Event Operations Maintenance Worker Pay Range:$19.00 per hour Position Purpose: Event set-up/tear-down support to the Event Operations department. Assists with a variety of skilled general maintenance-related activities and janitorial duties. This is a temporary seasonal position not to exceed 122 days. Schedule:This is a part-time position involving approximately 2-4 days per week not to exceed 122 days per year.Schedule subject to change based on business needs. Essential Functions: - Sets up and dismantles event-related equipment and structures including picnic tables umbrellas trash cans bleachers planters and other fixtures used throughout the year at the fairgrounds.
- Maintains a clean and trash-free environment by emptying barrels cleaning and stocking restrooms servicing patron areas and monitoring janitorial supply inventory.
- Empties and relines trash barrels.
- Prepares exhibit buildings for move-in by cleaning and stocking supplies.
- Operates a variety of equipment including forklifts manlifts floor scrubbers motorized utility carts and hand tools.
- Coordinates requests from event promoters with other departments including Maintenance and Events Services.
- Provides information to supervisor for event recap reports.
- Maintains daily notes on specific tasks assigned and equipment rented.
- Adheres to all workplace and job specific safety guidelines and uses personal protective equipment as instructed.

- Previous experience with janitorial work.
- Ability to successfully handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to work well and communicate effectively with supervisors co-workers and patrons.
- Must be able to follow basic instructions.
- Ability to work outside the normal business day/week as demanded by events and programs including weekends.
- Must be able to work all 23 days of the annual OC Fair (mid July mid August).
Preferences: - Valid California drivers license to operate a utility cart and other equipment on fairgrounds.
- Experience in safely operating heavy equipment such as a forklift manlift scissor lift Bobcat and/or trash compactor/baler.
- Janitorial or custodial experience.
- Familiarity with the layout and facilities of the OC Fair & Event Center.

Work Environment: Will work in a fast-paced indoor and outdoor environment with frequent interruptions in all types of weather conditions.
