Department Overview

The Renewal Sales organization is a critical part of the Command Center Software Sales organization at Motorola Solutions. Our mission is to secure a continuous revenue stream by ensuring the timely and successful renewal of contracts and subscriptions. We are dedicated to maximizing customer lifetime value by tracking upcoming renewals and proactively engaging with clients. We are driven by data-centric insights utilizing CRM and analytics tools to forecast renewals identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities and contribute to the companys overall growth and profitability.

This role is focused on supporting Motorola Solutions Smart Application services including but not limited to SmartConnect SmartProgramming SmartLocate SmartMapping SmartMessaging and Viqi Virtual Partner.


Job Description

The Renewal Sales Specialist is responsible for managing the end-to-end renewal process for a portfolio of Motorola Solutions Smart Application Services which are software-based solutions that enhance critical communications and security ecosystems. This role is a vital part of the customer retention strategy focusing on ensuring a high renewal rate while identifying and closing opportunities for upselling and cross-selling. The ideal candidate will be a proactive detail-oriented and customer-focused individual with a strong understanding of software sales and the ability to articulate the value of Motorola Solutions application portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Renewal Management:

    • Manage a designated portfolio of renewal contracts for Motorola Solutions Smart Application Services including but not limited to public safety software and mission-critical applications

    • Proactively monitor contract expiration dates and initiate renewal discussions with customers well in advance of the renewal deadline to ensure timely and effective renewal processes

    • Prepare and deliver renewal quotes contracts and proposals in a timely and accurate manner

    • Track forecast and drive software sales renewals in collaboration with the Sales teams and end customers

  • Account and Relationship Management:

    • Serve as the point of contact for renewal-related inquiries from customers and channel partners

    • Build and maintain strong positive relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers within the customers organization

    • Collaborate with Account Executives and Customer Success Managers to ensure a cohesive and consistent customer experience throughout the entire lifecycle

  • Upsell and Cross-sell:

    • Identify and qualify upsell opportunities for additional licenses features or professional services during the renewal process

    • Understand the customers strategic goals and operational challenges to effectively position additional solutions that can help them achieve their objectives

  • Administrative and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer and renewal data in the CRM system (Salesforce)

    • Generate and analyze reports on renewal and retention rates and provide insights on portfolio performance to management

    • Adhere to all sales processes policies and documentation requirements

  • Product and Market Knowledge:

    • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Motorolas Smart Application portfolio including features benefits and value propositions

    • Engage with Go-to-Market teams to understand new subscription offers and synergies with existing product lines

    • Stay informed about industry trends and customer needs to demonstrate value

Qualifications:

  • Experience:

    • 1 years of experience in a sales account management marketing or customer-facing role

    • Proven experience in a renewals inside sales or customer success role highly desirable

  • Skills:

    • Strong negotiation and closing skills with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    • Proficiency in CRM software (Salesforce a plus) Microsoft Office Suite / Google Application Suite and reporting software (Tableau a plus)

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

    • High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills

  • Education:

    • Bachelors degree in Sales Business Marketing or a related field preferred

Travel:

  • Estimated at 10-20%

Target Base Salary Range: $50000 -$55000 USD

Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge skills and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
