Department Profile

Product and EOD Pricing Reference Data Services (PRDS) is responsible for the set up and maintenance of product and EOD Pricing reference data for the firm. Product Data is critical to the front to back sales and trading operations finance risk support and regulatory business processes. We operate as a professional data company with teams providing reference data services to the Firms internal end partnership with the change and technology teams we also manage the processing and database maintaining of these products. PRDS is expanding the team in Mumbai to further develop its global team which are located across 4 regions: London Baltimore Mumbai and Pune. The candidate will be a senior member of the Global Product and EOD Pricing Reference Data Services team interacting with trading desks operations teams production management teams business analysts and IT development teams from Morgan Stanleys various business areas and specifically act as a point of contact to cover off on APAC afternoon/evenings and EMEA morning escalations.

Primary Responsibilities

We currently have an opportunity to lead the India Product and EOD Pricing Reference Data Services team. This role will be responsible for RTB people management escalations and stakeholder relationships in addition to overseeing a Change-the-bank program of work (CTB) and a transformation and regulatory strategy for the Global team. The candidate will be expected to own and drive components of the overall solution providing hands-on leadership in terms of details with a strong ability to manage and influence strategy delivery. The senior candidate will have diverse responsibilities including but not limited to the following: Managing a team of 30-43 resources in Mumbai developing and retaining talent while providing leadership support. Acting as an escalation contact across Fixed Income Equity Listed Derivatives Corporate Actions and EOD Pricing functions. Managing relationships with senior BU stakeholders Technology and External Data Vendors highlighting achievements and opportunities and providing updates on expectations strategic projects key initiatives and regulatory requirements. Establishing a working relationship with Compliance Risk and Audit. Supporting the PRDS Fleet strategy to meet existing business outcomes and working with the wider management team to further define the future state in alignment with the Transformation framework. Driving opportunities to deliver scalable and impactful solutions across the PRDS platform. Acquiring an intricate knowledge of the Firms product data flow of the data in the firm systems impact of poor-quality data building the ability to understand the wider environment and question data integrity. Clear understanding of business analysis approaches and concepts Skills required (essential):

  • Finance Graduate ( in Finance/Equivalent Degree in Finance).
  • 20 years of experience (Finance industry preferred)
  • People Management skills
  • Strong understanding of securities reference data
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Prior process improvement business analysis and project management experience
  • Experience defining business requirements managing and executing testing activities.
  • Stakeholder Management skills.
  • Ability to quickly digest new information and learn new businesses and processes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and define approaches to bring issues to resolution.
  • Result-focused mindset.

Skills desired

  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Experience working with remote teams and clients.
  • Strong understanding of external data vendor feeds.
  • Experience with Python SQL and other/similar Data Analytics tools.
  • Ability to work with large datasets and identify data patterns anomalies and propose steps for remedial actions.
