Assistant Dental Manager

Position Summary:
The Assistant Dental Manager supports the Dental Program Director in overseeing day-to-day operations across multiple subdivisions within the department including the Call Center/Front Desk Dental Providers and Hygienists and Dental Assistants. This role plays a critical part in ensuring smooth clinical and administrative workflows high patient satisfaction and overall operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Staff Supervision & Scheduling
Assist in supervising front desk and call center staff including scheduling patient check-in/checkout and insurance verification
Coordinate staff vacation schedules to maintain proper departmental coverage
Ensure efficient task distribution and follow-through in the dental records area
Patient & Provider Interaction
Foster a welcoming patient-centered environment
Serve as a point of contact for patients and providers to address concerns and resolve issues (e.g. emergencies pre-medication patient flow)
Support patient satisfaction efforts and maintain positive rapport with all stakeholders
Operational Oversight
Ensure accurate entry of patient demographic and insurance data in appropriate systems
Oversee follow-up for recalls missed appointments and cancellations
Monitor provider productivity appointment scheduling efficiency and daily patient flow
Assist with staff training to support process improvement and standardization
Education & Experience:
High school diploma required
Prior experience in a healthcare or dental setting preferred
Strong computer proficiency and familiarity with practice management systems
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
