Your part in our Buderim Hospital team
Kitchen Hands are responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation of the main kitchen through food preparation dishwashing and support as and related to basic food service functions comply with the hospitals food safety program. Kitchen Hands perform a wide range of tasks in a fast-paced kitchen environment to maintain adequate levels of clean equipment utensils and crockery in order to provide our customers with a high standard hospitality experience.
Assist with organising of ingredients for preparation and production of customer meals
Work as a team member and provide flexibility to rotate through all shifts and areas in the role of Kitchen Hand
Ensure a high standard of hygiene and safety throughout the food services department that complies with the hospital food safety program
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of HACCP principles in accordance with the hospitals food safety program
Maintain and replenish floor stock supplies as required.
Pot and dish washing and kitchen cleaning
Minimise food wastage through stock rotation
Escalate concerns from staff and member of other departments
What makes a difference for us
Previous Kitchen Hand experience in a food service health or hospitality team environment with a demonstrated understanding and competencies in manual handling training chemical use handhygiene and food safety
Basic Food Safety course for the Health & Community Sector
Ability to work well in a team and support a positive team environment
Basic numeracy literacy verbal communication and interpersonal skills including ability to read measure accurately and perform basic math skills
Willingness to obtain required vaccinations in line with hospitals infection control requirements
