About the role
This newly created role presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced and hands-on Production Leading Hand to join our growing operations team.
You will support the Operations Manager in labour allocation driving safety quality and productivity standards finding solutions to problems as they arise lead continuous improvement people development and performance management.
You should have a desire to build a long-term career from this position and will demonstrate commitment to your development. You will be highly motivated eager to make a difference and will demonstrate a quality first approach to your leadership role.
Your key responsibilities:
Lead and develop the Production team promote and support an environment conducive to delivering high performance.
Continuous improvement of systems processes workflow and efficiency of the Production function.
Work collaboratively with the Supply Planner on efficient resource and production planning and organisation.
Thoroughly understand and implement quality control techniques ensure standard operating procedures (SOPs) are followed and customer specifications are met.
Champion a safety-first culture lead compliant WH&S practices in all production areas.
Identify areas for process improvement and support initiatives to enhance Production operations productivity and customer satisfaction including automation and efficiency projects.
Assist the Operations Manager in preparing and analysing operational reports including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor and improve performance.
About You
Demonstrated hands-on Production supervisor experience in a fast paced environment preferably in the Food manufacturing industry.
Experience within a fast paced automated manufacturing environment with the ability to set up operate and troubleshoot equipment.
Strong team leadership skills personable engages and motivates and drives a high performing culture.
Intermediate technology skills experience using a range of business applications. Experience using ERPs will be an advantage.
Frontline management/leadership training would an advantage.
Comprehensive understanding of HACCP WHS and Quality (ISO) standards and requirements.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise manage multiple tasks and deliver results in a timely manner.
A current Forklift Licence.
