Interim Principal Job AnnouncementThe Cabot School District and Caledonia Central Supervisory Union are seeking an outstanding Interim Principal to lead Cabot School a small innovative PreK-12 learning community for the 2025-2026 school and Learning at CabotAt Cabot we design and implement high-quality interdisciplinary projects that are relevant to students lives and encourage them to take an active role in guiding their education. We embody our values of respect responsibility and perseverance through a project-based pedagogy that places a strong emphasis on authenticity culture & relationships as well as curiosity creativity & strive to ensure all students are engaged and active learners within a culture of inclusion that values all students as contributing members of our school community. We approach students through an inquiry lens honoring their voices questions curiosity and creativity. We view school as an extension of our broader local and global communities where students have the opportunity to grapple with questions that are important both locally and globally thereby creating active and engaged citizens. At Cabot we prepare students to be changemakers and resources to their community and we ask educators to help students create high-quality work that is rigorous and relevant. Cabot School is recognized for its student leadership and innovation in the school-wide implementation of interdisciplinary project-based learning student-led conferences proficiency-based graduation requirements transferable skills and restorative practices. Over the past four years Cabot School has implemented a strategic work plan aligned with its mission vision and values. We are seeking an experienced and committed educational leader to further this work and continue Cabots tradition of educational Experience and QualificationsIf you are our next principal you are committed to student voice and leadership and to cultivating respectful and supportive relationships with students. You have a background in interdisciplinary teaching and learning and an interest in helping students and staff design and implement high quality projects. You are dedicated to supporting and empowering staff. You are a divergent thinker thought partner coach and problem solver who is comfortable exploring out-of-the box solutions. You have strong leadership and communication skills and you develop/depend on teacher-leadership. You are a data-driven decision-maker and you seek input from teachers staff and community and use that input to inform your daily addition you are an individual who is:Highly collaborative with all stakeholders including community partners A level-headed calm communicatorSupportive of strong teacher leadershipSkilled in the implementation of trauma-informed practicesKnowledgeable and fluent in:Personalized learning project-based learning and proficiency-based assessmentHabits of Work and Learning & Transferable SkillsPractices that expand beyond a behaviorist approach to discipline (restorative practices and collaborative problem solving)Focused on building a culture of belonging and student voice. Committed to developing positive relationships with staff students and families. Your strong communication skills build community and positively represent the school. Able to work collaboratively with school leaders across the Supervisory :Demonstrated ability to coach staff of all experience levels including teachers new to the professionKnowledge and experience implementing a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and secondary experience (as leader and/or teacher)Managing resources effectively (including budget and grants management)
