Global Store and Customer Exports have presence in multiple countries and is at the forefront of Amazons global expansion strategy. We have maintained a startup culture and are looking for a Software Development Engineer I with an entrepreneurial mindset and tech prowess to solve the next level of challenges in international shopping for worldwide customers.
We are looking for a Software Development Engineer (SDE) to join the Cross Border Customer Experience this role the SDE will design write and maintain user experience software for Amazon shopping pages used by millions of customers around the world. The engineer will collaborate with world-class product managers to define the future direction of customer experience throughout the entire shopping journey (Search Detail Page All Offers Display Cart Checkout Order Details Page) and will apply the best engineering practices to deliver working solutions for international Amazon customers. The SDE will work on customers international shopping journey including personalized recommendations and displaying relevant cross-border shopping information (pricing delivery legal) in order to enable customers to shop efficiently and with confidence while delivering on business goals. The SDE will adhere to best practices of software development in large-scale distributed systems while innovating and experimenting in an agile fashion. You will participate in the entire software lifecycle from concept design development through testing release and maintenance. You will be mentored by tenured Amazon engineers and you will be expected to coach and mentor others around you.
Key job responsibilities
Gather and analyze business and functional requirements and translate business requirements into technical design specifications.
Write high-quality efficient testable code and recommend improvements in development maintenance and system standards and contribute to software documentation.
Design develop and deploy medium to large software solutions
Maintain and support our software in production including urgent support for customer-facing systems
Be responsible for technical problem solving meeting product objectives and developing best practices
Serve as an essential technical resource in the full development cycle.
Mentor junior team members technically
Contribute to multi-year product and technical roadmaps
- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
