As a member of Torontos finance team the Financial Analyst (Co-Op) will have the opportunity to work in various parts of the Company including construction project staff estimating and procurement. This role is designed to give the successful candidate exposure to financial reporting budgeting financial analysis project accounting and mentorship.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain daily banking entries
- Prepare standard journal entries for fixed assets prepaid assets and payroll
- Prepare project cost allocations for IT corporate shop utilization and admin fees
- Perform the monthly vendor maintenance internal control
- Assist with monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist the finance team in monitoring KPIs for cash collection billing targets and margins
- Participate in project review discussions about financial risks and opportunities
- Ad-hoc projects and analysis as required
Qualifications and Job Requirements:
- Enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Accounting Finance or a related field
- Interested in pursuing their professional accounting designation (CPA)
- Be able to build effective & productive working relationships across business units and within the finance team
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Integrity team player and an appetite to learn
- Resourceful strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
- Be organized results-driven and deadline-oriented
- Self-motivated and pro-active for managing workload and professional development
Desirable:
- Related work experiences are a strong asset including from other co-op placements internships projects or extra curricular clubs
