A significant portion of the Foundations overall budget is devoted to neuroscience research and to programs supporting people living with dementia and their caregivers.

Opportunity Overview

Wittingtons Strategy team supports the development and execution of our strategic agenda delivering thought leadership and actionable insights to address critical challenges and identify new opportunities across our portfolio and within our foundations.

Wittington is looking to strengthen and grow its Strategy team with the addition of a Director Strategy. Reporting to the Managing Director Strategy the successful candidate will primarily focus on strategic initiatives related to our charitable foundations while also contributing to broader business strategy across Wittingtons portfolio. The successful candidate will lead high-impact projects evaluate opportunities for philanthropic investment and help shape the strategic direction of initiatives that aim to improve the lives of Canadians. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in strategy whether from consulting corporate strategy or philanthropic organizations and a deep passion for creating positive societal impact.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Act as internal consultantand advisor for various projects across the Wittington portfolio with a specific focus on initiatives across our foundations
• Lead and execute Strategy projects effectively working with key stakeholders to frame important strategic questions identify creative impactful and practical solutions supported by analysis and guide teams from our foundations through the execution of these strategies
• For defined projects act as a project team leader and manage cross-functional teams by directing the work of team members and managing a broad set of stakeholders while focusing on effective project delivery within the defined timeframe
• Communicate succinctly and confidentlyany analyses and project findings to senior professionals in our foundations and businesses
• Effectively interact with external advisors (e.g. consultants subject matter experts various stakeholders involved with our charitable efforts)

Required Qualifications

• The successful candidate will have 6-8 years of experience and demonstrated a track record of success in any of the following sectors: strategy consulting corporate strategy or strategic work with large charitable organizations
• Creative problem-solving skills to tackle complex projects and unstructured problems
• Excellent communication skills to distill key messages for senior audiences and effectively present findings recommendations and opinions
• Proven project management abilities to structure work in executable pieces support complex projects and lead cross-functional teams to effectively deliver across a variety of priorities
• Demonstrated ability to ramp up quickly on new topics and synthesize input from a variety of sources to provide clarity and recommendations for the business
• Strong business acumen and understanding of finance/accounting topics
• Ability to build effective relationships across varying levels
• Relevant university degree(s) (e.g. bachelors MBA etc.)
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office tools especially PowerPoint and Excel.
