The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities Division Childrens Mental Health Bureau.

This position oversees all activities under multiple Medicaid programs which seek to increase access to mental health services for youth and families. This position is responsible for programs such as inpatient psychiatric care psychiatric residential treatment facilities (PRTF) therapeutic group home (TGH) partial hospitalization programs home support services therapeutic foster care targeted case management services outpatient psychotherapy day treatment and community based psychiatric rehabilitation and support (CBPRS). This position is responsible for ongoing development and maintenance of these programs. This position coordinates initiatives with services providers communities and offers technical assistance to providers in order to implement programs to fidelity evaluate the impact of programs and support program sustainability.

Qualifications for this Career Opportunity

  • General knowledge of Medicaid and medical terminology.

  • Knowledge of program management principles and practices.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Meet minimum qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree in business healthcare administration human services (including counseling or social work) or related field.

    • Two years of work experience in program management preferably healthcare related.

    • Other combinations of related education and experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Additional Information

This position may be eligible for partial teleworkwithin the state of conditions will be provided by the supervisor and must adhere to state policy.

This position may be eligible for a statutory $1.00 an hour base pay increase effective July 1 2026.
