Job Description
Role Overview
The Business Intelligence Specialist (Senior) is responsible for the design development and support of BI solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. The role focuses on analyzing business requirements designing scalable BI models and delivering insights through dashboards reports and data visualizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather analyze and document business requirements for BI solutions.
- Design develop and maintain ETL processes for data integration across multiple systems.
- Build and optimize data models cubes and semantic layers for reporting and analytics.
- Develop dashboards scorecards and visualizations using BI tools (e.g. Power BI Tableau SSRS).
- Ensure data quality consistency and governance across reporting environments.
- Work with stakeholders to deliver actionable insights that support strategic initiatives.
- Perform performance tuning optimization and troubleshooting of BI solutions.
- Collaborate with data architects developers and business teams to align BI solutions with enterprise data strategies.
- Provide knowledge transfer documentation and training to business users.
Skills & Qualifications
Must Have:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or related field.
- 7 years of experience in Business Intelligence Data Warehousing and Analytics.
- Strong expertise with BI tools: Power BI Tableau SSRS.
- Proven experience in ETL development and data modeling.
- Hands-on experience with SQL relational databases (SQL Server Oracle DB2 PostgreSQL).
- Strong knowledge of data governance metadata and master data management principles.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with cloud-based BI and data platforms (Azure AWS GCP).
- Knowledge of Snowflake and other cloud data warehouses.
- Familiarity with Python R or Spark for advanced analytics.
- Public sector project experience.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in multi-team cross-functional environments.
- Self-starter with ownership for projects deliverables and deadlines.
