JOB DESCRIPTION COMMERCIAL COUNSEL INDIA BASED REMOTE

Summary:
The Commercial Counsel will assist in running the daily functions of the Legal department with respect to contract reviewsupport on Indian law matters and legal support to all departments. This position will report to the Chief Legal and Administrative Officer.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic counsel and proactively lead the review and negotiation of a broad range of commercial agreements with a strong focus on client professional services agreements partnership agreements and vendor agreements.
- Contribute to the improvement of current processes and procedures such as by creating templates and developing legal trainings and playbooks.
- Identify and assess legal risks associated with commercial agreements and provide actionable advice to mitigate those risks.
- Provide timely and practical guidance on risk management internal policy compliance and contractual
- Provide advice on Indian law matters ranging from corporate matters to employment contracts and dispute management.
- Develop strong collaborative relationships cross-functionally and within the legal team including with strategic partners such as security privacy IT HR and finance to ensure alignment and compliance with company objectives contractual obligations and regulatory
Qualifications
- D. degree from an Indian accredited law school with membership in good standing with local bar.
- 5 years of experience in corporate and commercial transactions ideally with a focus on the technology
- Experience in an in-house legal department ideally specializing in technology
- Experience dealing with US and global clients
- Outstanding communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills capable of influencing and working collaboratively with various teams.
- Strong relationship-building
- High level of integrity professionalism and attention to detail.
