Role Purpose:
The British Council is looking for a Marketing Manager to join our team in Hong Kong to lead and execute strategic marketing initiatives for our English programs. The Role requires working with the Cluster Marketing Lead English in the development and implementation of the cluster/country marketing strategy and plans for English ensuring alignment to the regional and global marketing strategy and brand and to work in partnership with the English SBU to ensure that marketing programmes enable required business targets.
Main Accountabilities:
As the Marketing Manager you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive marketing plans that align with the regional strategic objectives. Working closely with the Cluster Marketing Lead English you will ensure that marketing efforts are flexible cost-effective and drive impactful results.
You will plan and execute go-to-market strategies across the cluster agreeing on programmes delivery mechanisms budgets and resources. You will also be responsible for deploying the British Council brand architecture across all marketing efforts in the cluster ensuring brand consistency and adherence to global standards. Additionally you will monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success of marketing campaigns.
In your role you will apply your professional marketing expertise to enhance marketing strategies for English in Hong Kong. You will identify opportunities for improvement working collaboratively with various internal teams including Customer Services Operations Academics and Commercial teams to drive business growth. You will be tasked with delivering clear tailored presentations to stakeholders and proactively seeking feedback to ensure the continuous improvement of services and strategies.
You will also play a key role in business development by supporting the implementation of innovative marketing techniques and maintaining alignment with the regional English marketing strategy. Your efforts will help foster a strong customer focus and ensure compliance with agreed marketing policies and processes.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of digital marketing including platforms like Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and Google as well as experience in tracking campaign performance using tools such as Google Analytics. You will be responsible for conducting market research and providing valuable insights on customer trends competitor activity and seasonality to inform local marketing strategies.
In addition to your expertise in marketing you will also support budget management for the clusters English marketing plans ensuring value for money and cost-effectiveness in all activities. Monthly and year-end reporting will be part of your responsibilities ensuring progress is tracked against plans and deliverables.
You will engage proactively with internal partners building strong relationships and working closely with colleagues across the organisation to develop integrated future-proof marketing approaches. As a leader you will manage your own work activities prioritising tasks to ensure effective delivery of marketing initiatives and contributing to the continuous improvement of marketing practices within the British Council.

Qualification & Experience:
- Relevant graduate degree e.g. marketing or equivalent
- Minimum 5 to max 15 years of experience in a marketing position at a national level within a medium to large organisation
