You will also focus on identifying and eliminating inefficiencies across production and logistics through the design and implementation of lean systems standard work and value stream mapping.
ResponsibilitiesWhat Youll Do:
- Lead continuous improvement efforts including Kaizen events root cause analysis and process redesign to reduce waste improve material flow and enhance operational efficiency.
- Drive labor productivity and cost optimization by analyzing performance data developing time and motion studies and implementing solutions that reduce variability and increase throughput.
- Lead the development analysis and implementation of direct and indirect labor standards and work methods for material handling operations across Vehicle Assembly Powertrain and Stamping Plants. Ensure optimized manpower utilization and efficient line balancing.
- Collaborate cross functionally with operations supply chain and engineering teams to implement sustainable changes that improve total cost performance from raw material sourcing through final product delivery to the point of fit.
- Perform detailed cost-benefit analyses using engineering economics principles to support make-or-buy decisions packaging design changes and material substitutions.
- Build and maintain engineering cost models to analyze material acquisition handling and logistics expenses across different scenarios.
- Apply Lean Six Sigma and Kaizen methodologies to reduce waste cycle time and cost in logistics and material handling processes.
- Work cross-functionally with design engineering manufacturing procurement and logistics teams to ensure material and logistics considerations are integrated in product and process design.
- Provide engineering input during forward model launches to evaluate material flow feasibility packaging needs and logistics constraints early in the development process.
- Lead or support continuous improvement projects that apply IE principles to reduce total landed cost increase delivery reliability and enhance operational efficiency.
- Perform detailed time and motion studies including MODAPTS analysis to evaluate work methods identify inefficiencies and support labor standard development. Analyze employee improvement proposals through an engineering lens to enhance process performance ergonomics and productivity.
