About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Electronics Repair Engineer to join our laboratory instrument service and support team. This hands-on workshop-based role involves refurbishing testing calibrating repairing and maintaining a wide range of laboratory equipment to high standards. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Refurbish configure and thoroughly test laboratory instruments
- Diagnose faults and perform repairs at component and sub-assembly levels
- Calibrate instruments to exacting specifications using precision equipment
- Work accurately from technical drawings manuals and standard operating procedures
- Maintain a clean safe and organized workshop environment
- Prepare instruments for online sales and customer delivery
What Were Looking For
- Solid knowledge of electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies
- Proficiency in using calibration and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams and technical documentation
- Logical methodical problem-solving approach
- Good IT skills and meticulous record-keeping
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
Education & Experience
- ONC/HNC NVQ or equivalent qualification in Engineering Instrumentation Electronics or related field
- Experience in servicing repairing or calibrating laboratory or medical equipment is advantageous but not essential
- Candidates with transferable technical skills from related sectors are encouraged to apply
