About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Electronics Repair Engineer to join our laboratory instrument service and support team. This hands-on workshop-based role involves refurbishing testing calibrating repairing and maintaining a wide range of laboratory equipment to high standards. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

Refurbish configure and thoroughly test laboratory instruments
Diagnose faults and perform repairs at component and sub-assembly levels
Calibrate instruments to exacting specifications using precision equipment
Work accurately from technical drawings manuals and standard operating procedures
Maintain a clean safe and organized workshop environment
Prepare instruments for online sales and customer delivery

What Were Looking For

Solid knowledge of electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies
Proficiency in using calibration and diagnostic equipment
Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams and technical documentation
Logical methodical problem-solving approach
Good IT skills and meticulous record-keeping
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team

Education & Experience

ONC/HNC NVQ or equivalent qualification in Engineering Instrumentation Electronics or related field
Experience in servicing repairing or calibrating laboratory or medical equipment is advantageous but not essential
Candidates with transferable technical skills from related sectors are encouraged to apply
