Entry-Level Civil Engineer (Surface Water) - Networking Event with AECOM – Los Angeles, California

AECOM is seeking a motivated Entry-Level Civil Engineer to join our Surface Water team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career engineer to gain hands-on experience in hydrology hydraulics and civil design to support surface water and stormwater management projects with ENRs #1 ranked water engineering firm.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and analysis of stormwater management systems drainage networks and flood control infrastructure.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling for floodplain studies culverts bridges detention basins and channel improvements.
• Support preparation of engineering drawings technical reports and construction documents under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Conduct fieldwork including topographic data collection condition assessments and construction observation.
• Contribute to watershed and stormwater master planning efforts through data analysis and GIS integration.
• Collaborate with project managers engineers and CAD/BIM designers to deliver high-quality resilient solutions.
• Stay current on industry standards codes and sustainable engineering practices in surface water and stormwater design.

Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience.
• Due to the nature of the work U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Internship or collegiate project experience in hydrology hydraulics stormwater or surface water design.
• Familiarity with H&H modeling software (e.g. HEC-HMS HEC-RAS SWMM XP-SWMM or similar).
• Exposure to GIS tools for hydrologic analysis and mapping.
