Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a Transportation Engineer to be based in Atlanta Georgia.
The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
- Assist in data collection traffic model development capacity and operational analysis.
- Assist in performing planning level macro to micro traffic simulation models to compare present and future traffic conditions and needs.
- Have some knowledge/understanding of various traffic analysis software such as Synchro HCS VISSIM Sidra.
- Have knowledge of various analysis reporting and presentation software such as Microsoft Excel Word and PowerPoint.
- Assist in performing traffic analysis for small- and large-scale transportation projects.
- Assist in creating visual presentations on transportation data.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing technical documents alternative analysis reports and other project-specific deliverables.
- Collaborate and participate in internal and external team meetings.
- Periodic travel required within Georgia and neighboring states.
Qualifications :
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or Planning 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Relevant experience in transportation or traffic engineering is a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills good time management skills self-starter with a strong work ethic willingness to learn commitment to quality and attention to detail Experience in Synchro/SimTraffic HCS Sidra and/or VISSIM
- Experience in ArcGIS Synchro and/or other traffic modeling software MicroStation and/or other CAD software intersection control evaluation (ICE) analysis crash data analysis alternatives analysis multi-criteria decision analysis benefit-cost analysis and other related planning and engineering tools
