Job Summary

2 months contract with a Local Authority
Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Occupational Therapist to support adults within the community by conducting assessments and implementing appropriate interventions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing practical support to individuals to help them live independently and safely in their homes.
This includes the delivery installation and demonstration of small aids and adaptations.

Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
Undertake occupational therapy assessments in the community to identify needs.
Provide recommendations for equipment and adaptations to promote independence.
Collect deliver install and demonstrate safe use of small items of equipment (e.g. bath boards toilet frames commodes).
Maintain accurate and timely case records in line with professional standards.
Work collaboratively with service users carers and other professionals to achieve person-centred outcomes.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and safeguarding responsibilities.

Skills/Experience:
Previous experience in adult social care or community-based occupational therapy.
Good knowledge of equipment provision manual handling and housing adaptations.
Ability to conduct functional assessments and develop person-centred care plans.
Strong communication interpersonal and report-writing skills.
Able to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
Car driver preferable but not essential (travel expenses covered for equipment delivery via taxi if needed).

Additional Information:
HCPC registered Occupational Therapist with relevant professional qualification.
Full-time role: 36 hours per week (working hours: 09:00 17:30).

Previous experience in adult social care or community-based occupational therapy. Good knowledge of equipment provision, manual handling, and housing adaptations. Ability to conduct functional assessments and develop person-centred care plans. Strong communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills. Able to work independently and manage a caseload effectively. Car driver preferable, but not essential (travel expenses covered for equipment delivery via taxi if needed).

Education
