Job Description
Our client a leading and renowned commodity haulier in the Transportation industry who is based in the vibrant and dynamic East Rand of Johannesburg is seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to lead their operational team and drive the success of their business.
Position Overview:
In the dynamic realm of the commodity haulier industry as the Operations Manager you will play a central role in overseeing and orchestrating the complete spectrum of our clients transportation and logistics operations. Your core mission is to guarantee the seamless and efficient operation of day-to-day activities fostering the companys capacity to attain its strategic objectives. This influential position entails direct reporting to Clients Name senior management team providing you with an exceptional prospect to lead and mold our clients operational strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership: Lead motivate and manage a high-performing team of operational professionals to ensure the smooth and efficient running of daily operations.
- Process Optimization: Develop and implement strategies to enhance operational processes workflow and resource allocation for maximum efficiency and productivity.
- Resource Management: Oversee the allocation of resources including personnel vehicles and equipment to meet operational goals and maintain cost-effectiveness.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the senior management team to develop and execute operational strategies aligned with the companys growth and financial objectives.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all transportation and logistics services meet quality standards and customer expectations. Implement quality control measures and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets related to operational expenses closely monitor financial performance and implement cost control measures.
- Logistics and Distribution: Lead the logistics and distribution teams to optimize transportation routes warehouse operations and inventory management to meet customer delivery commitments.
- Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations and industry standards implementing safety measures to protect employees assets and the environment.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize data analytics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor operational performance identify trends and make data-driven decisions.
- Customer Focus: Maintain the highest level of customer service standards and promptly address any operational issues affecting customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a leadership role within the transportation and logistics industry.
- Strong background in operations management and process optimization.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- A bachelors degree in Business Logistics Supply Chain Management or a related field is required. Having a financial degree is considered a valuable asset and a Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is highly advantageous.
