We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Machine Shop General Manager to lead and oversee daily operations for a small but established manufacturing company in Grand Prairie. This role requires a strong background in machining welding assembly and production management. The GM will be responsible for building a positive culture holding employees accountable and ensuring operational excellence across all areas of the business.This is a pivotal leadership role for someone who thrives in a team environment is willing to cross-train and can lead by example while guiding a workforce where many employees have been with the company for 15 years.Key Responsibilities:- Oversee all aspects of daily operations including machining sawing programming welding assembly painting shipping and scheduling.
- Lead mentor and develop a team of long-tenured employees by promoting a team-first mindset and rebuilding company culture.
- Build quotes for new and existing customers.
- Hold employees accountable while remaining patient approachable and professional.
- Address workforce challenges such as attendance and communication issues with fairness and consistency.
- Serve as a role model by leading by example and creating a welcoming positive culture.
- Manage production schedules and ensure on-time delivery of customer orders.
- Utilize computer skills to manage reporting scheduling and production-related data.
- Train in production processes including Excel spreadsheet creation to streamline reporting and operational efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in workflow productivity and employee engagement.
Qualifications:- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment
- Proven leadership experience in operations management with hands-on exposure to machining welding assembly and production.
- Strong people management skills with the ability to coach hold employees accountable and foster a collaborative culture.
- Excellent organizational and scheduling skills; ability to wear many hats.
- Strong computer proficiency including Microsoft Excel and production management systems.
- Effective communicator with the ability to build trust and respect across the team.
