ITA is seeking an Armorer to join the team supporting the 391st Fighter Squadron at Camp Bullis in San Antonio Texas.

Responsibilities
- Oversee the units Combat Arms program and serve as the units primary armorer.
- Manage weapons training support operations to include activities on firing ranges multiple facilities resource and supply functions weapons maintenance operations and a munitions account.
- Review and update operations instructions annually documenting reviews electronically or on a general- purpose form.
- Build and maintain Operations Instructions to provide guidance for local policies/procedures required to manage the units Small Arms/Light Weapons (SA/LW) training range operations and SA/LW maintenance programs IAW squadron policy.
- Ensure all permanent and temporary modifications to SA/LW systems are approved by the Small Arms Program Office and coordinated with Air Force Security Forces Center Weapons Management Branch (S4W) Combat Arms Air Force Security Forces Center (AFSFC)/Force Generation Weapons Logistics (FGWL).
- Create a SA/LW inspection report for all types of inspections (i.e. Semi-Annual Pre-Embarkation Pre- Issue Turn-In) to be completed within five duty days of completing the inspection. Address the report to the weapon custodian of the unit possessing the SA/LW with a suspense date to correct the discrepancies not to exceed 30 calendar days.
- Manage the physical security regarding weapons munitions and keys.
- Account for all weapons munitions and associated equipment.
- Design armories and clearing zones IAW AFIs/AFMANs (e.g. AFMAN 31-129) and local requirements.
- Ensure all assigned and TDY personnel are safely handling weapons IAW AFMANs (e.g. AFMAN 31- 129 attachments 2 through 18) and local requirements.
- Verify each individuals authorization to receive weapons and/or ammunition.
- Manage the weapons cleaning program.
- Ensure each weapon is cleared before issue or turn-in. Visually inspect and clear each weapon to ensure all ammunition is removed prior to storage. Store weapons IAW AFMAN (e.g. AFMAN 31-129 attachments 2 through 18).
- Determine accurate combat weapons support requirements.
- Identify short- and long-term resource and funding issues and make resolution recommendations to commander.
- Research and identify cost-effective training requirements for assigned personnel. Develop and implement a comprehensive training plan within established timeframes.
- Perform Combat Arms Training & Maintenance (CATM) duties IAW AFIs/AFMANs and local guidance.
- Conduct firing range operations and courses of fire IAW AFIs/AFMANs (e.g. AFI 36-2654 AFMAN 36- 2227) and local guidance. NOTE: The guidance in AFI 36-2654 and AFMAN 36-2227 takes precedence over local guidance.
- Obtain and maintain qualification on all instructed SA/LW and courses for which you are required to instruct.
- Coordinate with the squadron weapons officers to maintain and personalize approved AF lesson plans with emphasis on enhancing student learning effectiveness IAW AFIs/AFMANs.
- Obtain and utilize SFMIS to document daily training maintenance operations and weapons qualifications.
- Train all armorers and clearing barrel officials IAW AFIs/AFMANs and local requirements.
- Train qualify and certify personnel on AF SA/LW and courses.
- Evaluate and correct student performance during SA/LW training IAW AFIs/AFMANs.
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience as an Air Force military member awarded AFSC 3P0X1B with Special Experience Identifier (SEI) 312
OR - 2 years of experience as a military member or DoD civilian with equivalent qualification (defined as a graduate of the Air Force Combat Arms Apprentice Course Navy Master at Arms (MA) Trainer/Planner Army Master Gunner at Battalion Level or higher or Marine Corps Master Gunner (MG qualified))
- Possess a Secret security clearance
