The Ear Health Research Program aims to reduce socioeconomic disadvantage of First Nations children through elimination of disabling hearing loss.

This is a Research Assistant/Officer position to assist with the conduct of guided literature searches scoping and systematic reviews and meta-analyses necessary for the update of the National Otitis Media Guidelines for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. This work is funded by the National Health and Medical Research Council.

The Role:

Some of the key duties of this role include:

  • Assisting with search strategies scoping and systematic reviews and meta-analyses including documenting literature searches and managing study selection and quality assessments.
  • Use appropriate software and guidelines for conducting and documenting the review processes and decision making (e.g. GRADEpro).
  • Contribute to screening search strategies research databases and Endnote library data safety integrity and confidentiality.

About you:

As a motivated individual you will come with demonstrated research potential evidenced by a track record of co-authored academic publications in peer-reviewed journals. You will also have:

  • A tertiary or postdoctoral qualifications or equivalent qualifications or research experience in a health-related field.
  • Demonstrated research potential evidenced by a track record of co-authored academic publications in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting literature searches and managing bibliographic software such as Endnote.
  • Ability to manage data accurately securely and in compliance with relevant institutional legislative and regulatory requirements.

The Benefits:

  • Base Salary $79589 - $104787 per annum pro rata (Total remuneration package including superannuation $100802- $129724 per annum pro rata).
  • Generous leave provisions including 6 weeks annual leave.
  • Salary packaging up to $15900 per annum and $2650 meal and entertainment card tax free.
  • Option to increase superannuation to 14%.
