We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Chargeback Specialist to join our dynamic finance team. The Chargeback Specialist will be responsible for managing and resolving chargeback cases reducing financial losses and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and card network rules. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills a customer-focused mindset and proven experience in chargeback management or a related financial services role.
Key Responsibilities:
Process and respond to chargeback and dispute cases in accordance with card brand rules (Visa MasterCard Amex Discover) and internal policies.
Investigate and analyze transaction data to identify the root cause of chargebacks and represent the companys position effectively.
Collect prepare and submit compelling evidence and documentation to dispute chargebacks and recover funds.
Communicate with customers banks and card networks to resolve cases promptly and professionally.
Monitor chargeback trends and provide regular reports and insights to management to mitigate future risks.
Maintain accurate records of chargeback cases correspondence and outcomes in the companys case management system.
Collaborate with internal teams (e.g. Compliance Fraud Customer Service) to improve processes and minimize chargebacks.
Stay current with industry regulations and updates to card network rules.
Assist in training new team members on chargeback processes when necessary.
Qualifications:
Associates or Bachelors degree in Finance Business Administration or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in chargeback management payment processing or financial dispute resolution.
Strong understanding of card network rules (Visa MasterCard Amex Discover) and regulatory requirements.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with chargeback management systems and payment processing platforms is a plus.
