St. Jude Global Pediatric Medicine is seeking a dedicated Regional Hub Program Manager to plan and execute programs and projects in the second regional hub which will be in Johannesburg South Africa. This hub will drive the work of SJGs Sub-Saharan Africa Region which has partnerships with more than 57 institutions across 14 countries in the region. The Program Manager will develop and manage regional partner relationships work closely with the new Regional Hub Director and oversee the Regional Programs Hub team members. Because this is a new position the responsibilities will evolve over time which means that the Program Manager will have an opportunity to shape their role.
The Program Manager will initially be hired in the United States but is expected to relocate to South Africa when the Hub opens which is planned for early 2026. The role eventually requires a physical presence in the Sub-Saharan Africa Regional Hub office in Johannesburg providing on the ground leadership for Hub programs ensuring work is effective efficient and aligned with the St. Jude brand and mission. There are no exceptions to this so candidates who are not able to move to South Africa should not apply for this position.

SJG is at a pivotal moment in the development of its Regional Programs establishing hubs across the globe to improve outcomes for children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases around the world. SJG is seeking a dedicated Regional Hub Program Manager to plan and execute programs and projects in the second regional hub which will be in Johannesburg South Africa. The Program Manager will develop and manage regional partner relationships work closely with the new Regional Hub Director and oversee the Regional Programs Hub team members. The Program Manager will be responsible for:
- Playing a leading role in the strategic planning management and execution of the Sub-Saharan Africa Regional Program including defining objectives approaches goals governance mechanisms resource deployment periodic reviews contingency planning and periodic reporting and communication;
- Driving outreach and engagement with regional collaborators (i.e. St. Jude Global Alliance members governments and strategic partner organizations such as the World Health Organization) as the hub establishes itself in region;
- Managing relationships with a range of stakeholders inside St. Jude including facilitating connections between internal groups and partners in the Sub-Saharan Africa region;
- Overseeing the regional hub program team members managing their performance and development;
- Developing and evaluating Sub-Saharan Africa Regional Program success metrics providing complex data analysis & interpretation and developing program-related reports for senior leadership;
- Managing and executing project budgets and contracts;
- Ensuring alignment with departmental and institutional policies and practices;
- Overseeing end-to-end development of internal & external facing events including but not limited to strategy creative concepts calendar and timelines.

- Has the ability to adapt work schedule with prior notice to accommodate meetings occurring in multiple time zones.

Minimum Education:
- Bachelors degree required;
- Masters degree in a relevant field preferred.
Minimum Experience:
- 4 years of experience in program management and delivery;
- 5 years of experience preferred;
- Experience building relationships with diverse actors across an ecosystem for collaboration and program delivery;
- Experience designing and managing programs with focus on customer needs;
- Experience in program budget tracking reporting and risk management;
- Experience providing guidance and mentorship within program management teams;
- Proven experience engaging with senior leaders to facilitate decision-making;
- Experience providing guidance and mentorship within program management team;
- Some experience driving continuous program improvement projects;
- Experience working with international organizations such as the World Health Organization UNICEF the World Bank or other parts of the United Nations preferred;
- Experience working in different countries and/or cultural contexts preferred;
- Experience working in a decentralized organization with multiple offices preferred.
Compensation
In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets experience and training licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $78000 - $139360 per year for the role of Program Manager Sub-Saharan Africa Regional Hub for Global Pediatric Medicine.
