Summary: The Director for Evangelization and Mission is a faith-filled mission-driven and visionary individual who leads and coordinates the parishs efforts in evangelization fellowship and stewardship in harmony with its pastoral priorities. The director will collaborate closely with clergy staff ministry leaders and parishioners to foster a vibrant culture of missionary discipleship rooted in the joy of the Gospel.
A key priority of this role is reaching out to those on the peripheriesboth in the broader community and within the parish itself especially those who are baptized but disengaged from parish life. This includes inactive Catholics divorced or separated individuals single-parent families the elderly and homebound young adults teens without sacramental formation and underserved cultural groups such as Indian Filipino and African descent families.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Evangelization and Discipleship Formation
- Develop and implement a comprehensive parish evangelization plan to reach inactive Catholics seekers and the broader community.
- Coordinate parish missions retreats and outreach events proclaiming the kerygma and fostering parish membership.
- Integrate evangelization into all parish ministries and sacramental preparation programs.
- Pay particular attention to those who are on the margins of parish life including:
- Inactive or non-practicing Catholics
- Divorced and separated individuals
- Elderly and homebound parishioners
- Single parents
- Youth and young adults not engaged in catechesis or parish ministry
- Families who may feel disconnected from parish life from smaller ethnic groups.
- Disengaged families who send their children to Parish Faith Formation programs
2. Fellowship and Community Life
- Strengthen parish fellowship through activities that build authentic Christian community.
- Support new parishioner welcome initiatives and connect families with ministries.
- Promote intercultural unity and hospitality in the diverse community of Holy Trinity.
3. Stewardship
- Promote a culture of gratitude and generous stewardship of time talent and treasure.
- Lead the planning and execution of parish-wide stewardship and financial development campaigns including annual appeals and capital campaigns.
- Provide training and formation for ministry leaders on stewardship as a way of life.
- Coordinate commitment weekends and campaign communication efforts.
Qualifications:
- Practicing Roman Catholic in full communion with the Church and committed to her teachings.
- Bachelors degree in theology pastoral ministry evangelization or a related field (Masters preferred).
- At least 35 years of experience in parish ministry evangelization stewardship or leadership roles.
- Familiarity with Church documents especially Evangelii Gaudium Lumen Gentium and Apostolicam Actuositatem.
- Proven ability to form and lead teams plan events organize campaigns and work collaboratively in a parish setting.
- Strong interpersonal organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to use technology and social media for evangelization and ministry coordination.
- Maintain confidentiality of information or material obtained in the service of the parish or organizations.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish
- Perform other duties as assigned by pastor.
