Job Description

Position Overview

The Software Engineering Developer (Data Integration) will work with all members of their team to implement and support projects and systems for all Global Sales and Marketing projects. The primary focus of this position is the development and support of various software systems for MSIM Client Data Platform.

Developers should work independently and collaborate with client end users on IT related projects. This individual will be expected to facilitate project meetings to discuss end user requirements.

A highly motivated task-oriented person driven to achieve client satisfaction. The individual must be well organized be sensitive to project and production deadlines have a quick learning ability be able to work both independently and in a team environment. Prior experience working with a globally distributed team and in an onsite/offshore model. Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and ability to participate in multiple projects at one time.

What You will do in the role:

  • Works closely with a team to build and improve custom database and ETL applications. Participates in system enhancements and responsible for application support.
  • Understands the integrity of development models including the enforcement of standards policies and system stewardship principles.
  • Complies with Sarbanes-Oxley and other regulatory requirements including user access and maintenance of key records.
  • Ability to work with non-technical end users to interpret and document user requirements and develop functional specifications.
  • Performs System and Unit tests of team application updates and is responsible for project level test plans.
  • Participates in teams code reviews and application analysis to maintain best coding practices.
  • Participates in system enhancement and operational processes. Responsible for the creation of application support documents used by the overnight support team for critical processes and coordination of efforts when support issues arise.
  • Manages multiple projects of varied size and scope. Responsible for project tracking and status reporting.
  • Off-hour availability is required as needed by Project deliverables

What You will bring to the team:

  • 9 years demonstrated experience in database development on any major RDBMS platform (Snowflake/SQL Server/Oracle/Sybase/DB2)
  • 6 years experience with either Ab Initio or Informatica ETL toolsets is required
  • 5 years experience with cloud based platforms like Snowflake AWS or Azure
  • Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL best practices
  • Strong knowledge of performance tuning concepts across various platforms
  • Strong knowledge of data structures/integration components like JSON XML delimited files APIs
  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools and schedulers (CA Workload Automation/ Autosys/Tivoli)
  • Experience writing Unix shell and Windows batch scripts
  • Strong knowledge and experience in SDLC procedures is a required
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Strong communication skills - both verbal and written
  • Understanding of the integrity of development models including the enforcement of standards policies and system stewardship principles.
  • Ability to develop support materials for applications to expand overall knowledge sharing throughout the group.
