You are also a confident decision-maker in crisis situations and must be bilingual in either Cantonese Cambodian Vietnamese or Punjabi

He kōrero mō te tūranga The Role

This opportunity will allow you to use your skills and experience to support our clients in their recovery within a mental health support service specifically aimed at meeting the needs of Asian communities. This role involves supporting service users in managing their wellbeing and recovery; establishing daily routines; attaining life skills; securing safe and sustainable housing; accessing social services education and employment. You will facilitate linkages to natural supports and connections to the wider community. You will have a good understanding of culturally appropriate delivery of health and social services.

What you will need to have:

Bilingual speakers (must be fluent in either Vietnamese Cambodian Cantonese or Punjabi as well as English)

Ability to inspire and motivate people to achieve their goals

Ability to advocate network and build positive community relationships

Knowledge of New Zealands health system and local community groups and resources

A relevant qualification (or working towards one) in Mental Health and Addictions or Social Work is essential

NZ professional body registration if applicable to the role

Commitment to The Treaty of Waitangi and understanding of tikanga Māori

All applicants must have New Zealand Residency a full and clean drivers licence and a clean police record.
