Job Summary
Thompson Greenspon a well-established CPA firm in Fairfax Virginia is looking for talented Tax Staff Accountants to join our dynamic team.

As a Tax Staff Accountant youll play a key role in delivering high-quality tax services to our diverse client base. Youll work with experienced professionals in a supportive collaborative environment while growing your skills and advancing your career. We offer a hybrid work environment requiring three in-office days a week in our Fairfax office.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing federal and multistate tax returns for individuals partnerships C corporations S corporations nonprofits and trust and estates
- Identifying tax planning opportunities and conducting research to support client needs
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships as a primary point of contact
- Managing multiple client engagements simultaneously and meeting deadlines efficiently
- Collaborating with team members to ensure project status is communicated effectively
- Delivering high-quality work while staying mindful of time budgets
Qualified candidates will have:
- Recent public accounting experience in a CPA firm
- A Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting
- Completion of 150 credit hours OR plans to meet CPA eligibility requirements
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Solid communication skills both written and verbal
- A proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a high-volume environment
- An active PTIN or the ability to obtain one prior to the start date
