The Accountant at Wavestone plays an instrumental role by processing client and vendor invoices reconciling expenses and other general accounting activities. This position will report to the CFO and partner closely with other Finance team members. This position will also provide general accounting support to the monthly/annual closing process.
Responsibilities
- Timely and accurately complete tasks in support of the monthly business closing cycle.
- Prepare and issue client invoices apply reconcile accounts and provide variance explanations as needed.
- Lead reimbursable expense onboarding process for new employees
- Process and reconcile monthly reimbursable expenses.
- Ensure reimbursable expenses comply with company policies and are accurately allocated.
- Post invoices and financial entries in SAP using appropriate functions.
- Support monthly accruals asset depreciation and rent postings.
- Maintain accuracy by following internal month-end completion checklists.
- Leverage internal SAP guides to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Review payment documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Support dual-signature payment approvals using JP Morgan system.
- Assist with verification of payroll-related transactions
- Collaborate with payroll lead to ensure compliance with internal controls.

This full-time position is based in our Pittsburgh PA office. You must reside within a commutable distance to the office. This is a hybrid role.
Qualifications :
Education
- Bachelors degree in Finance Business or Accounting. MBA or CPA is a plus.
Required Experience
- 2 plus years of experience in an accounting role.
- Experience with various financial tools and systems such as SAP NetSuite ERP and/or Open Air Oracle Quickbooks etc.
- High proficiency in Microsoft product suite with strong capability in Excel. Power BI is a plus.
- Experience with general accounting policy procedures and processes for monthly and annual closing cycles.
- Strong analytical capabilities self-driven and action oriented.
- Understanding of the data sets that can be pulled from the system for reporting purposes.
- A professional aptitude for solving problems through analytics and the ability to work collectively to meet critical timelines.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to balance multiple projects and priorities.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to safeguard confidential information.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusting relationships.
